I only worked with Joan for a couple of years before her illness took her out of the office. I miss her almost every day. A bright light in the office. Quiet but funny. Quick to smile and I don't think I ever heard her say a cross word. One of her enduring qualities to me was the fact she was comfortable in the office and really seemed to enjoy her work. I found her kneeling in her chair leaning forward on the back of the chair looking at her terminal. I asked if I could take a picture and she would not let me. I honored it but boy I wanted that picture. To me, that was Joan in a nutshell.
A good person gone too soon. Rest in peace Joan and know that you are thought of often.
