Obituary of Margaret Ruth McCullough

On Sunday, November 29th Margaret Ruth McCullough passed away peacefully at the hospice unit of St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.   Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her brothers, Fred and Richard and her sisters Ardis and Marilyn.  She is survived by her brother Jerry  (Sharon) Mangold of Faribault, MN sons Gerald (Cindy) of Wadena MN Richard (Mary) of Maple Grove, MN Gregory (Dorina) of Esko, MN and James (Deanne) of Brimson, MN.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew (Brittany) of Esko, MN James (Carla) of Esko, MN, Christopher (Laura) of Christiansburg, VA, Alex (McKenzie) of Saginaw, MN , Lauren of Maple Grove MN, Katherine of Duluth MN, Hunter of Brimson, MN, Colton of Brimson, MN and Andrew of Minneapolis, MN.  She also has four great-grandchildren, Axel, Molly, Liam and Kaisa.

Margaret was born November 15, 1940 to Hildred and Milferd Mangold.  She graduated from Westbrook Minnesota high school.  She married Richard Byrd McCullough and together they had four boys and enjoyed time with their stepson Randy.  Family was the most important thing for Margaret as she treasured time with her immediate family and her extended family as well.  She was a very kind woman and never had a negative thing to say about  anyone.  She worked as the bookkeeper/office manager of Rapids Sports Center in Coon Rapids for over twenty five years.  Margaret enjoyed her church activities as well.  Her cabin north of Duluth was a source of joy over the last 25 years as she created many memories with family.  She was also an avid reader, gardener, crocheter, and quilter.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great source of joy to her.

Arrangements are being made by The Cremation Society of Minnesota.  Burial will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis Minnesota.
