Obituary of Lois May Short Houstman Bester

At age 90, Lois died at home on November 20, 2020 in Duluth MN.  She was born on March 21, 1930 to Stuart and Blanch Short.

Lois was an avid reader who enjoyed daily crosswords and had many years of travel with her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Francis Houstman in 1975 and her husband Bill Bester in 1999, her sons Robert Houstman and David (Chrissy) Houstman, stepdaughter Mary Ellison, great granddaughter Christine Wittwer, son in law Charlie (Jan) Wittwer, brothers Clark, Robert, Albert, Lee and Harry, and sister Alice.

She is survived by daughters Jan Wittwer and Karen Bester, son Dale (Tammy) Houstman, stepdaughters Bonnie (Jim) Castonguay, Jackie (Brad) Edgerton, and Barb (John) LeGarde, stepsons Bill (Cheryl) Bester, Jim (Darcy) Bester, Dan Bester, sisters Dolpha King and Gladys Evans, 25 grandchildren, 25 ½ great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Because there will be no formal gathering due to the pandemic, please commemorate Lois’s life in a way that is meaningful to your cherished memories.
