I just heard about Mary Lee this morning. I am crying and in shock having lost such a wonderful nurse and someone I considered a friend. She was always there with great information and care. We had wonderful conversations about just about anything. She was an HCMC treasure that I was lucky enough to know. Rest In Peace Mary Lee until we meet again!

I just found out today about Mary Lee's passing. I am in shock. I am a transplant patient and while Mary Lee was not my primary nurse, I often worked with Mary Lee for labs and other interactions. I have always felt that nursing is a lifestyle, not a 9-5 job. Mary Lee epitomized that. Her care and dedication were evident. I know she is in a better place now however the world was a better place with Mary Lee. I will certainly miss her and am thankful for the time I did get to work with her.

We are so saddened by Marylee's death. My husband had his transplant 21 years ago, and Marylee was his nurse for all of those years,. As his wife, I was in contact with Marlee a couple of times a year, or more if Bruce had unexpected issues, that sometimes occur with a transplant. She always answered my questions when she could and was honest when she couldn't. She was easy to understand and work with. It's hard to believe a nurse can have a connection with her patients for so many years. Her dedication was selfless. I wish her family peace during this horrible time. Thank you for sharing your mom - wife.... with us.
Sincerely, Lynnette and Bruce LaRoque

It is with shock and sadness to learn of Mary Lee’s passing in November. As a kidney transplant patient, I relied on her knowledge and compassion to see me through eighteen years of questions, insecurities and fears as the medication changed my body. Mary Lee was the epitome of nursing care. I was treated as a friend, not a patient. I hope her family and friends can be comforted by the love she shared with me and others. Mary Lee, I will always remember you and look forward to seeing you again. - Janet Larson

Mary Lee was my nurse, confidant, friend and part of my Hennepin family for twenty years. She was my “go to “
person for most everything , calmed my fears, laughed with me, cried with me and was the biggest cheerleader and marketer of my little kidney book. I wish Mary Lee would have been able to be the recipient of the compassionate care she gave all of us as her patients, maybe she could have stayed with us a little longer.
Mary Lee is irreplaceable, will be always remembered and forever loved. Rest In Peace dear friend, until we meet again

To Mary Lee’s family I am very sorry for your loss, and I know it’s a great loss. She deserved much more time on this earth.
Mary Lee was a vital part of the team that took care of me at the HCMC kidney clinic for the past 15 years. She was always quick to return my emails about prescriptions and lab tests. She liked to remind me of a TV story I did about which items should be refrigerated. I only go to the clinic once a year now but I will miss her smiling face and the her genuine concern for all of her patients.
God bless you all as you work through your grief and sorrow. Mary Lee was loved and admired. — John Croman in Minneapolis

We had a nice conversation this summer. My sincere condolences to the family and please let me know when you have a celebration of her life. Pam Borgmann
