Obituary of Julie Ann Churchill

Julie Ann Churchill, 64, of Edina, MN died of cancer on Monday, November 16, at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, after a life focused on caring for her family. She was born on March 12, 1956 to Wayne and Grace (Voltz) Churchill in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

She was a graduate of Big Foot High School in Walworth, Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and her Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Julie was married to John Thomas Potter in 1988, and worked in the field of graphic design prior to the birth of their children. Julie was an incredible mother of two amazing daughters, a talented seamstress, an avid reader, an eagle-eye for a straight line, and she had a fun sense of design. She liked to travel, had a knack for carrying on a conversation, and lovingly welcomed people into her home. Julie had a beautiful smile, a sensitive soul, and even during the toughest of times, she had an amazing gift for finding the silver lining in every cloud. Her generosity of spirit, and kind and thoughtful nature, cast a wide net.

Julie was predeceased by her father, Wayne Churchill, and is survived by her husband John Potter, her daughters Emma Potter and Mikaela Potter, her mother, Grace Churchill, and her sisters, Jo Pirlott (Mike) and Jackie Churchill (Scott Schroepfer). Julie's family is grateful for the care provided by Minnesota Oncology, Abbot Northwestern, and N.C. Little Hospice. In the spring, there will be a private service to celebrate Julie's life in Door County, WI, one of her favorite places. Memorials preferred to Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, 800 E 28th St, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
