Obituary of Timothy John Olufson

 

Timothy John Olufson 

 

Graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis in 1971. He excelled in drafting while there as the draft teachers aide and went on to work at Minnesota Blue Print right after high school. Tim joined the United States Army and served as Military Police during the Vietnam war. After completing his tour of duty he met Susan Swensgaard, the love of his life. Their daughter Daniella blessed Tim with two grandchildren, Gabriella and Collin.

 

Tim continued his education and received associates degrees from Saint Cloud Technical College in Sales Management, HVAC and Nursing assistant. Tim loved assisting with activities in the facility where he lived and worked! Serving was always a priority for Tim.

 

Pastimes included, playing pool when off duty in the service, excellent marksmen, bowling, golfing and fishing.  In addition to spending time with his family Tim’s passion was fishing! Whenever possible winter or summer he spent time at his sister’s lake home in Wisconsin reeling in the big one!

 

Words do not describe the tremendous loss by family, coworkers and friends!  When thinking of Tim these words come to mind. Big heart, gentle spirit, humble, always willing to give a helping hand! When faced with a challenge he always came through with a smile on his face! God bless you Timothy! You will be missed.

 

Tim is survived by siblings, Sandra (Dick) Klepetka, Dean (Shelly) Olufson; daughter, Daniella (Candi); grandchildren, Gabriella, Collin, Mark, Nora, and Joseph; and nephew, Ethan.

 

Preceding Tim in death are his parents, John and Laura Olufson; sister, Heidi Olufson; fiancé, Susan Swensgaard.

 

Final resting place : Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450.  Graveside funeral honor ceremony will be held summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Saint Cloud VA.
