Obituary of Sarah Sandstrom

Sarah Jane Sandstrom was born New Year’s Eve, 1956 at St. Luke’s hospital and took her Savior’s hand November 5th, 2020.

She graduated from Central High School in 1975 and St. Scholastica in 1980 with a nursing degree. As a nurse, she worked in Rocky Ford, CO, Washburn, WI, and Duluth. She loved Lake Superior, moving closer to the lake each time she returned to Duluth.

Sarah was a true friend: generous, funny, and kind. She had an uncanny ability to understand what would be meaningful to those whom she loved. She had an artistic talent for beadwork, jewelry making, weaving, paper cutting, and knitting, with special ability to combine wonderful colors. Her flair for beauty and style were evident in the clothes she wore. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer, and her beloved pets, Jack and Babe, helped her in her long struggle with cancer.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Anderson, and preceded in death by her sister, Kristina, her mother, Donna Rae Sandstrom and her father, Harvey Sandstrom. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21st at 2:00, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Masks requested.
