Obituary of Alphonsa Zedekiah Cannon

Cannon, Alphonsa "Al" Zedekiah passed away on October 24, 2020 at the age of 91. Al was born in Corona, Alabama on March 7, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Vera Cannon, and brothers Manasseh and Charles Cannon. Al moved to Minneapolis in the 1950s to start a family, and taught science for many years at Roosevelt High School, was an active member of the Minnesota Federation of Teachers teacher's union, and was ultimately named to the Roosevelt High School Hall of Fame. Al is survived by his two sons, Christopher and Kevin Cannon. Al was a wise, kind hearted and thoughtful member of the community, whose presence and warm personality had a great impact on many people, including family, former students, friends, and associates. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date due to COVID.
