Living in Florida, every summer we would take the train to Rhinelander and return back in time for school.
I first met Aunt Shirley back in the 1950's when she was dating my Uncle Mahlon. We had good times together, went fishing and swimming and they made me gut and clean the fish! She was a secretary at one of the paper mills, I think. I went on with my life and lost contact with the good times from the past.

Great Aunt Shirley Horn (Olsen) next to Tom Duffy. Richard D. Murray & Mary Anne Murray (Olsen) my parents. Taken at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Oct 12th, 1957. "Auntie" was Maid of Honor. Kelly was born the next yr then I was within the same birth year right after. We lived outside of cityof Rhinelander until I was 15. Mom took us tricks and treats to Aunt Shirley's every yr. when Auntie lived a few streets across from Pioneer Park. Trick or treats was always fun when stopping at Auntie's. Then she moved into Grt Grma & Pa's when they passed. (Lots of memories there also with Grt Grma & Pa) When I was older and my car broke down I remember walking to Aunties house (Grt Grdma & Pa's) because I always knew she would be there for me and she always was. I could've gone to any number of places, even my little brother lived in Rhinelander with his wife and baby at the time, but it was Auntie's house for me.

"Auntie" Shirley. I have missed you. Our long phone talks every year on your birthday (and other times) Ah, there you are (big smiles) in the stores in Minocqua when you lived by me. How you loved that I called you Auntie telling me I was the only one who ever did even though you are my great Aunt. You were a blessing to my Mom. Now you are in Heaven with my brother Kelly, my Dad & Mom along with your parents, Grt Gpa and Ma Olsen and the rest of the family. It's especially joyful that you are all with Jesus. Love you. Lori Murray-Chiolino (Olsen maternal side.)
Laura Olsen sends her blessings also. Aunt Shirley lived with her brother Mel (Laura's Dad-my grandpa Olsen) when she was a child growing up in Rhinelander Wi. She wishes to pass her condolences to the family also. God Bless you all.
