Obituary of Carroll William Wickstrom
On October 22, 2020, Carroll "Wick" Wickstrom passed away peacefully in Hopkins, Minnesota. Carroll was born on March 13,1929 in Aitkin, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lillian (Nelson) Wickstrom, sister, Ruth Carlson, brother, Jerry Wickstrom, Reggie Cammon, Tucker Jensen & Michael Dixon.
Survived by Wife, Neva Wickstrom
Children, Debbie (Vinny), Gary, Kathy (Stephen), Kent, Tom (Kathleen), Mary Jane (Jeff). Step, Deb (Dale),Toni, Peggy, Michael (Kristi) & Jess (Charlie). Grandchildren, Audrey, Lilly, Beau, Bridget, Brooke, Zachary, Lee, Kelly, Rachel,Cole. Step, Kirsten, Stephen, Olivia, Isaiah, Mikaela, Jennifer. Great Grandchildren 8. Many Cousins, Nieces & Nephews.
Carroll was a kind and gentle man, a jokester with a soft smile. He loved a parade, Palisade, biking, RV traveling, boating and his family. Korean War vet, Industrial Arts Teacher at Metcalf Jr. High in Burnsville school district 191, AA member and sponsor. Post retirement, he worked at the MN State Fair and volunteered at North Memorial Hospital.
The family wishes to thank The Glenn Hopkins staff; they are our heroes and angels.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private ceremony for immediate family will be held at Fort Snelling cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in 2021 when we can have a picnic, burn a shoe, and celebrate safely together.
