Obituary of Lisa L. LaPean
Lisa L. LaPean, 58 of Bloomington (7/24/1962-9/30/2020) passed away suddenly of natural causes. Lisa was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend and she will be terribly missed. Lisa loved listening to music, reading and spending time with family and friends. A visitation will be held October 24, 2020 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Cremation Society of MN 7110 France Ave S Edina. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (veap.org) of Bloomington, MN or self-selected non-profit.
Lisa had such a passion for all types of music; she shared this passion with her niece Peyton. She always had to point out “I knew that song before you!” Her favorite radio station was The Current (89.3) and if you were with her, that’s what you were listening to. A few of her favorite artists included The Beastie Boys, Dessa, Arcade Fire, Lizzo and Michael Johnson. Another passion she had was for reading; favorite authors included Stephen King and Neil Gaiman. She shared a love for the musical Hamilton with her sister Georgi and nieces Beth and Madison. Lisa’s favorite movie was The Nightmare Before Christmas and she had all types of Tim Burton stickers, magnets, and figurines.
Anyone who knew Lisa all agreed that she was the sweetest, kindest, and most caring person. She always put others before herself and was there for anyone no matter what time of day. She kept her friendship with her best friend Pam, from junior high school, very close to her heart. Her biggest pride and joy in her life was being an aunt to many. Lisa was thrilled with all her nieces and nephews whether they be human or canine. Her friend Pam said “If you are lucky enough to be one, please know that she loved each and every one of you. She felt the pain of your struggles, she celebrated your accomplishments, took joy in you finding yourselves and your way into adulthood, and the special relationships in your lives.”
Lisa loved her 21 year career at Target HR and cherished the many strong friendships she made. Lisa’s had a fun playful side as evident by the “bin of weirdness” she kept at work filled with quirky or macabre art, skulls, and bobble heads she loved to collect. Lisa was also a gifted photographer who captured wonderful pictures of children in particular after working at a number of portrait studios.
