Obituary of Diane Lynne Moeller

Diane Lynn Moeller, 67, of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s hospital with family by her side.

She was born in Superior, WI on March 23, 1953 to Edward and Grace (Carlson) Vittorio. Diane graduated from Denfeld High School in 1971 before going to beauty school and Vo-Tech. Diane married the late Edward Moeller in 1983 and they raised two children.

Diane enjoyed a career in the restaurant industry as a waitress. She worked at many restaurants including The Bellows, The Jolly Fisher, The Pickwick, and Robin Hood. She cherished many fond memories of her coworkers and her work in the industry. Diane later switched career paths and worked for cleaning services at Merry Maids and the Miller Hill Mall. Diane truly missed her coworkers and seeing familiar faces at the mall.

Diane was big-spirited, and so full of life. She had a great sense of humor and she could light up a room. She had an eclectic taste of music and she loved to dance. Diane was a devoted mother who encouraged her kids to stay active by playing sports and music. She cheered for them at every single one of their softball and hockey games; no matter if the temperature was subzero, she was out there! 

Diane was a mom to many and always had a full house. She loved her “85 kids,” and her many pets. Diane found a hobby in the culinary arts. She was always watching cooking shows and reading cooking magazines. She had a green thumb and kept the most beautiful plants. She was on a bowling league for many years at Stadium Lanes with her family and friends.

Diane was preceded into death by her parents, Edward and Grace Vittorio; brother, Gary Vittorio; and husband, Edward Moeller.

She is survived by her children, Nicole (Ryan) Moeller and Edward Moeller; brother, Jeffrey (Nicole) Vittorio; and Diane’s nieces and nephews: Stephanie Vittorio, Abbigale, Gracelynn, Bradley, Kyle & Nicholas.

The family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date.

In memory of Diane, eat good food, say a toast, give cheers, include her in your prayers, and dance with her spirit. We love our mom, sister, and friend. We will always hold her very close in our hearts. She was one of a kind. She will always be by our side.
