Obituary of John Emil Fodstad

John died at the age of 71 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis on March 16, 2020. 

He was born in Minneapolis on August 4th, 1948 to Raymond and Adeline Fodstad.  After high school graduation John joined and proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years. He served two tours in Vietnam. John was a member of the American Legion for 50 years and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Minneapolis Chapter #1. 

After retiring from many years of employment at General Repair Service, a job, and friends he loved, he spent his time fishing, bird and critter watching and enjoying the scenery at his lake home in Grey Eagle Mn. He could never get enough of the peace and quiet he found there. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanne Fodstad. 

John is survived by his wife Linda, son Jason (Jessie), grandchildren Joseph and Jenna Fodstad, siblings Bill (Carol) Fodstad, Tom Fodstad, Judy Fodstad, Lynn Backes, Mary (Chuck) Hesse and nephews, nieces, in-laws, and friends that will miss him and his big smile. 

Private graveside services are being held Weds October 21 at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
