Obituary of Edward W Meyer
Edward W. Meyer passed away peacefully August 20, 2020 at 88 years young. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lillian Meyer, his wife, Marilyn and daughters Ester and Susan. He is survived by 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. His legacy also includes 1 dog, 2 grand dogs, 8 great grand dogs and 15 great grand chickens.
He graduated from Geneva High School in Illinois and attended Bethel Seminary for a short time and then married his sweetheart, Marilyn Hartley (2002) they went on to spread the gospel throughout Minnesota.
An avid baseball fan, the Chicago White Sox were his favorite team! Edward even played in the minor leagues when he was younger as a pitcher. His children can attest to the sting on their hands when he practiced ball with them. He threw the ball fast and hard and one just knew to get out of its way as it came at you.
A self-proclaimed entrepreneur, his ventures were many and he was always thinking up new ideas to sell his wares, may it be crafts, rock and gemstones, woodwork or jewelry he was always creative. Best known for his ability to strike up a conversation with almost anyone and an insatiable sense of humor that left people in a better mood after they sat and had coffee or tea with him. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
Internment service will be held at the Lengby Baptist Church Cemetery (204 East 2nd Street, Lengby, MN 56651)
