Obituary of Mary Jackson Lien Conrad

Mary “Cathy” Jackson Lien Conrad, born June 4, 1959, in the City of Minneapolis, MN, passed away suddenly on September 8, 2020 in Grand Portage, MN.  Cathy recently was given an Ojibwe name of “Anang Bikobiise”, White Water Lilly. 

Cathy was the daughter of Melvin “Sonny” Jackson, Darlene “Catherine” Dahmen Oakgrove and Step-Father Francis “Billy” Oakgrove.

Cathy enjoyed being around loved ones especially her grandchildren and other children. The activities she loved to do were cooking, gambling, being and active avid Vikings fan and playing pool.  She worked as a bartender, blackjack dealer, and Honeywell employee, cook and child care provider.

She is survived by children Robert “Rob” Jackson, Angela Lien and Daughter-in-Law Rachel Lien.  Siblings include Tammy (Mark) Szczech, and Francis (Stacy) “Tarz” Oakgrove.  Cathy has 17 grandkids and 5.5 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by Mother Darlene Oakgrove, Fathers Sonny Jackson and Billy Oakgrove, Brother Randy Jackson, Sister Jackie Jackson and Son Jason Lien.
