Milt was born March 10, 1945 to the late Florence and Milton Myhre. He was the oldest of 3 boys. Milt was a talented athlete, earning several varsity letters in Football, Basketball, and Baseball for the Spring Grove Lions. Milt graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1963, then served in the army for 3 years, stationed in New Jersey.

Milt married his high school sweetheart, Lorna Rud, on December 23, 1965. Milt and Lorna had 2 sons, Todd and Derek. Milt loved sports and spent many proud hours watching Todd and Derek play in high school and college. He was able to use his passion for sports to coach elementary and junior high basketball. Milt loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He spent a lot of time fishing on the lakes, rivers and streams of Minnesota with Todd and Derek. Deer hunting was another activity that he loved to do, especially in the bluffs of southeastern Minnesota in the fall. His love for the outdoors will continue to live on in the lives of his sons and grandchildren. Milt enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful shelves, crafts, and furniture that are proudly on display in his family's home.

Milt and Lorna raised their family in Spring Grove, then moved to Chanhassen, MN to be closer to their sons and grandchildren. They are known by many youth sports families as the “superfans” for their grandchildren, attending most of their sporting events.

Milt leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Lorna (Rud), his two sons: Todd (Ann) Myhre of Eden Prairie, MN and Derek (Roxy) Myhre of Waconia, MN and his two brothers: Richard (Arlis) Myhre of New Albin, IA and Jim (Linda) Myhre of Alamogordo, NM. Milt had so much love for his 5 grandchildren: Nikki, Jake, Jenna, Brianna, and Benjamin. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and being a grandpa was something Milt cherished until the very end.

Milt was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Milton Myhre; in-laws Gilman and Tinka Rud; Niece Dawn Burmester, and brother-in-laws: Carlyn Rostad and Dennis Rud.
