John Francis

Obituary of John Michael Francis

John Michael Francis was born on October 29, 1961 to Ronald Ward Francis, Sr. and Marie Ellen Martin in Alameda, CA.

John grew up in Las Vegas, NV moving to Florida in the late 70s where he married Denise Castellano in 1979 and had his first child, Michael.  Here he developed a love for deep ocean fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and catching fish for his salt water tanks.

He married Angela on January 11, 1991 and together John, Angela, and Michael moved to Minnesota in 1993 where they began Fine Arts Masonry, capitalizing on his creative gift. John was a remarkably talented mason who used his artistic abilities to craft beautiful masonry masterpieces and enjoyed teaching his trade to others.  He looked forward to building in the future paradise earth.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses John’s love for Jehovah God was deep and he had great joy in sharing his faith with others. John was devoted to his family, loved goofing around and being silly, cooking, gardening, traveling, and working on home projects together.

John enjoyed watching and playing sports such as skiing, basketball, baseball, golfing with friends, was a lifelong San Francisco 49er fan, and coached his son Michael’s baseball team.  He was intrigued by new things, always active, and sought to take on new adventures. His motto was “CAN'T never did anything...TRY did everything!"

He endured a courageous battle with cancer for the last several months, going to sleep in death on Thursday, September 3, 2020 peacefully at home in his favorite napping spot on the porch he built with his own hands.  He looked forward to the promises from the Bible of a resurrection into a paradise earth and a time when death will be no more as promised at Revelation 21:3-4.

Survived by wife Angela (Tordoff), children Michael, Zachary, Morgan, and Mason, brother Sage Francis, sister Kimberly Prince (Doug) Williams, grandchildren Cooper, Isabella, and Olivia, niece Rachel (Steven) Anthony and nephews Aaron and Nicholas.  Preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Ward Francis, Jr.
