Obituary of Karen Ann Foede

Karen Ann Foede, age 69, of Two Harbors, formerly of Delano and Waverly, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, in Two Harbors, MN. Karen was born Aug. 4, 1951 to Joe and Mary Reardon. She lived in Delano MN, for many years and worked as a registered nurse in Winstead, dedicating her career to caring for the elderly. She later found her home on the North Shore and settled in her “little house in the woods”. She continued to care for the elderly at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Two Harbors.

Karen was married Nov. 1, 1985, to the love of her life and best friend, George Foede. For the past 30 years, they have created and shared many memories in their forever home, on the North Shore.

Karen loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and doted on every chance she got. She loved  nature and being outdoors especially fishing and hunting deer and bear.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Cindy (Wayne) Boman; son, Skip (Becky) Johnson; daughter, Shannon Lee (Nabeel) Johnson-Benalshaikh; step-daughters, Beth Werkman (Foede), Paula Foede; nephews, Bryce, Bryan, and Evan Boman; grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Jehnah, Mahdi, and Shakura Benalshaikh, Rachel Werkman, Amanda, and Ellen Lerbakken, and Amanda, Kathleen, and Kimberly Rolfzen; great-grandchildren, Odin, and Kylie Starkey, Neveah Rolfzen, Braxton Cochran; best friend, Betty Miller; and many more extended family; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Reardon-Rauschendorfer (2008) father, Joe Reardon (2017), great-granddaughter, Haven Starkey (2010) and dear friend Ruth Cameron.
