Lauren was a classmate of mine. We were never close, but she was one of the nicest classmates I have ever had. We were in the same seventh grade Advanced English class, and she was so smart and talented. I remember she loved music, and I think she was in choir. At the beginning of the school year, we were both reading the same book at the time, “Between the Shades of Gray” by Ruta Septeys. It’s still one of my favorites to this day. I remember she loved it just as much, and we had talked about it nearly every day for a month and a half. Even though it was just a small gesture she did, which was talk to me about the book, I was in a dark place at the time and some days even our quick 30 second conversations made my day. She really was one in a million. She was talented, kind, and smart. I can’t believe it has already been over a year since she passed away. School sure sometimes feels dull without her walking the hallways. My deepest condolences to her friends and family. Lauren will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
M Lachinski
