Obituary of Gary Charles Gay
Gary Charles Gay, 72 passed away peacefully in his home on August 17 due to his recent battle with COPD.
Preceded in death by grandparents Clyde and Myrtle Heffron and mother Wilma Gay. Survived by his wife of 49 years Agnes, son Eric (Jen), daughter Amanda (Matt) Sappa, grandson Isaiah, step-grandchildren Autumn, Samantha and Brittney, sister Diane, sister Kathy (David) Brandvold, brother David (Pat), brother Leslie (Connie) and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Gary was a draftsman, master metalworker and fabricator by trade, and a woodworker by passion. He was well known throughout the Minnesota racing community through his many years of building, setup and repair of racecars from several different racing series. He will be missed by many.
Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held Thursday, August 27th at First Memorial Waterston Chapel in Minneapolis. Gary was a veteran of the U.S Army, and will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery later this fall.
