Obituary of William L. Gilbertson

William L. Gilbertson (Bill), age 70 of Rosemount, passed away on August 18th with family surrounding him while he was reunited with his beloved son, Steven. I could feel his release of me while I was telling him if he had to go Steve is waiting for you and that's when he passed. I was expecting a huge magnetic surge around the world when they met.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth of 17 years. Daughter Katie (Ryan) grandchildren Bree, Maddie and Tristen. Brother Paul (Betty), Sisters Kathy (Bob)  and Susie. Many loved nieces, nephews and cousins that kept in touch any time they could.

Bill was preceded his son Steven whos' life, love and spirit has lived on by everyone that he met. He is also preceded by his father and mother, Paul and Jean. Along with many uncles, aunts and friends.

He graduated from Spring Lake Park High,class of 1968. He then went on to study theology.

Bill worked at Treehouse Food in Lakeville for 25+years. He enjoyed the people he worked with so much that he didn't want to retire because he would miss them.
 
He had that kind of charisma that would draw people to him. Bill was a big bear of a man with a booming voice but the softest of hearts. He would reach out to anyone that
were having a difficult time. Once you met him you never forgot him.

A celebration of Bills life will be held September 19, at Casperson Park in Lakeville. Pavilion B. It will starting approximately at 3 pm going on until the last person leaves.  Because of covid no hugging. Social distancing and masks (your choice). Please be respectful of those of us that are at a risk. 

This is a casual event,  A happy event. Everyone is welcomed to come an tell your stories how he made you laugh or feel good. We are planning on grilling hamburgers and hot dogs with side dishes. We want to hear laughter and cry some tears.
