Obituary of Leo Bernhardt Leintz
Leo Bernhardt Leintz, Age 87, of Albertville, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home. Leo was born April 11, 1933 in Werner, ND, the son of Anton and Juliana (Erker) Leintz. He was raised in Killdeer, ND, where he attended school.
Leo owned a body shop in Maple Lake and worked as an auto mechanic for many years.
On August 15, 1970, he was united in marriage to Sharon Ridgway in Minneapolis, MN. The couple lived in Maple Lake for 27 years before they moved to Albertville, MN.
Leo loved to camp, especially with the Starcraft Camper Club/Family & Friends Camping Club, and was still a member after 42 years. During this time they attended 25 Starcraft International rallies and visited all of the lower 48 states except for Maine. He enjoyed going to casinos, watching wrestling on TV, spending time with his family and tinkering in the garage.
Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; children, Jackie (Larry) Dumpprope, Mitchell (Mary) Leintz, David (Sally) Leintz; grandchildren, Joseph (Melody) Adams, Mathew Schwichtenberg, Eric Leintz, Kevin Leintz, Anthony Leintz, Benjamin Leintz, Dylan Leintz; great grandchildren, Aspen, Jessa, Kaiden, Payton; siblings Paul Leintz, Angie Smith, Beatrice Richards, Joseph (Trish) Leintz; many nieces and nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, son Scott Leintz and 7 siblings.
An outdoor Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 29, 2020 1:00pm at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 400 County Road 37 E, Maple Lake, MN 55358. In case of increment weather, the service will be limited to his family. Please wear a mask, and bring a chair and an umbrella for the sun.
