Obituary of Georgia Fae Redden
Georgia passed away peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, August 6, 2020 following her short, but brave battle with cancer.
Georgia was born to George Allen Aaseby and Mavis Elaine (Hovden) Aaseby in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on March 9, 1951. She was the eldest sister in her family and throughout her life showed care and attention to those that she loved in a motherly, nurturing way, and was referred to as “Dolly” by her father.
Georgia met the love of her life, Paul Redden, in April 1968 and they were married July 27, 1968. Together they built a beautiful life and family. They have 4 children; Lisa, Trudy, Meghann, and Benjamin, and a bonus son, Orville Hoof. Her love of the North Shore began when her children were young, and the family would vacation near Lake Superior, where they later relocated. Georgia was a loving mother and wife, a talented homemaker, and often volunteered in the classroom at school and at church teaching Sunday school. She went on to work in careers in customer service, hospitality, and retail. Georgia loved working in the tourism industry and enjoyed the deep friendships that she developed with colleagues and customers alike. Georgia’s favorite pastimes included time with family, reading, cooking, and the arts. She loved to prepare meals for family, go shopping, paint (especially Norwegian Rosemaling), go for walks by Lake Superior, read, and enjoy the company of good friends for a lunch meeting or a trip up the North Shore. Georgia opened her heart and home to others as a gracious hostess and enjoyed heartfelt friendships with those that she connected with in life. She was a woman of strong faith, and she showed this through her service to others.
