Obituary of Thomas Edward Budnick

Thomas was born to Antion and Bernice Budnick on July 11, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN. He passed away at Solvay House on December 26, 2019.

Thomas was a lifelong learner and remained passionate about environment until his passing. He worked as a geophysical engineer for the City of Minneapolis’s Water Department and truly enjoyed rockhounding and engaging others about water quality in and out of work. He was also a veteran, serving in the Navy before Vietnam.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, John Budnick.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; sister, Mary Tolle and sister-in-law, Cheryl Budnick; daughters Laura (Carl) Gerky and Kristine (Justin) Lavine; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.

Thomas’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at St. Michael’s Church with a 10:30am visitation and an 11:30am service. Donations can be made to the Miller-Dawn Foundation in his memory. Thomas will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
