Obituary of Olive Leybas

Olive M. Leybas of Eden Prairie went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2020 at the age of 95.  Olive was born August 14, 1924 in London, Ontario, Canada to English immigrants who settled in Walled Lake, MI area when she was five months old.  She grew up along with her brother on a farm in Michigan.  Olive was a survivor, creative and devoted friend to many. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother.  She will be missed by her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters, great grandchildren, many nephews, nieces and their children, also friends she made in her lifetime.

Olive would have said in her own quirky way;

“Speak of me as you have always done. Remember the good times, laughter, and fun. Share the happy memories we've made. Do not let them fade. I'll be with you in the summer's sun and when the winter's chill has come. I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze. I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease. I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep, but memories we've shared are yours to keep. Sometimes our final days may be a test, but remember me when I was at my best. Although things may not be the same, don't be afraid to use my name. Let your sorrow last for just a while. Comfort each other and try to smile.”

The family will not be having a memorial service due to Corvid 19. Interment will be in Michigan where she will rest in the family’s plot.  In her memory, we ask that you consider making a donation to "St. Jude’s Children’s Research in memory of Olive Leybas " or to an organization or a cause that holds meaning to you.
