Obituary of Michael Heilman
Michael (Mike) Heilman of Mound, MN formerly of Minneapolis, MN went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the age of 81. After a sudden stroke, Mike passed away peacefully comforted by family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ricky. He is survived by his wife Peg; children Michael (Cheryl), Mark (Lori) and Melissa; sisters and brothers Pam(Fred), Marty (Cindy), Sandy (Chris) and Rob (Mary). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He started college at the University of Minnesota, but went into the Army after one semester. He worked at Cole Sewell for many years before Peg and him had the bright idea to buy a bowling alley. They were the proprietors of Nicollet Lanes for 16 years. After selling the bowling alley, he worked for Dinnaken Properties before retiring.
Mike loved being around his family and the memories they made while traveling. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, participate in concerts or other activities. He didn’t always have a lot to say, but he did usually have a good zinger to throw out every now and then. These memories and many more memories will forever be cherished.
Mike was a long-time member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and enjoyed the time spent over the years with those friends as well.
The family is planning a private service in September due to COVID. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to:
