Dear Ann,
I am greatly saddened by the news of your mother's death. She was such a great friend. My fondest memories are of her leading the Steamboat Days Parade and Cotter homecoming. She never once dropped her baton!
Then, the years on Huff Street where we were neighbors. Once, when she didn't hear me walking around upstairs, she became concerned, came upstairs to find me fainted from dehydration of food poisoning. I spent a week in the hospital, and still treasure the gift she brought when visiting.
She always welcomed us back to Winona each summer where we'd swim at the pits, Fountain City Pool, and Lake Winona. I remember when you all came to Florida, went to the beach, and your dad got SO sunburned.
We kept in touch with our annual birthday calls. She shared herself with so many others. I will miss her bubbly personality.
Thank you for being a devoted daughter. I am praying for your strength and for your children.
Much love, Mary
