Obituary of Joyce Anna Ruth Heckman

Joyce Anna Ruth (Peterson) Heckman, 82 of Hermantown, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2020 in the loving care of her family and in hospice at Inter-faith Care Center.

Joyce was born July 25, 1938 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; daughter of August Peterson and Lyyli (Aho) Peterson. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1956. Joyce worked over 25 years for Maurices Corporate in Duluth, Minnesota.

Joyce married Fabian (Bud) Heckman on September 13, 1958 in Pickeral Lake, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Fabian (Bud) in 2012.

Joyce is survived by her five children, Jon (Rachelle) Heckman of Maple Grove, MN, Jeffrey Heckman of Duluth, MN, Joel (Kim) Heckman Hermantown, MN, Valerie (Chris) Morris Hermantown, MN and Veronica (Brian) Kaspszak of Hermantown MN; 11 grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Damsgard, Derek Heckman, Kristin Bond, Erika and Jenni Heckman, Anja, Nick, Zane and Corey Morris, Kyla (Nathan) Schulte, Matt Kaspszak; three great grandchildren; and a host of brothers and sisters in faith.

Visitation: 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday August 8 until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, 6273 Hwy 2, Munger, MN. Interment at the church cemetery following the ceremony.
