Obituary of Virginia M. Grindahl

 

Virginia M. Grindahl, age 92, passed away on August 6, 2020 peacefully and at home with family at her side. She was born June 15, 1928 on a farm near Alice, North Dakota, to Lester and Winifred Kemmer.

Virginia Attended elementary school in Alice, ND and High School in Enderlin, ND. After Graduation Virginia worked in the office of Lincoln Mutual Life and Casualty Insurance Company Fargo, ND where she met and Married Charles Grindahl, December 12, 1952.

After their Marriage the couple lived 1st in West Virginia, and then in California while Charles was serving in the U.S. Navy. Finally settling in Minnesota with their three children, Barry, Diana, and Paula.

Virginia was a long time Employee at Tonka Toys, Mound MN, before becoming a C.N.A. working at Twin Birch Nursing Home, Spring Park, MN. When they moved to Elk River, MN. she was employed at Guardian Angels in Elk River. Retiring the 1st time in 1990. In retirement they moved to Enderlin N.D., where she was employed at Mary Hill Manor, Enderlin ND as an activity assistant.

Not only was Virginia the best MOM, She lived to be the BEST Grandma - Grandma Kitty -“Big”Grandma – GIGI. Virginia was the sweetest, and Kindest women you would ever know…a women of strong faith and love for Jesus that she passed on to all who met her. No matter how bad things got, how mad/sad you got….HOPE and Forgiveness gets you though it all.

Virginia was preceded in death by; Infant Son; her Husband Charles Grindahl; Father and Mother Lester and Winifred Kemmer; Brothers Harvey, Duane, and Hal Kemmer; Sister Ethel Cramer

Virginia is survived by son Barry (Cindy) Grindahl of Buffalo, Mn, Daughters Diana (Manley) Olson of Isanti, Mn and Paula (Bob) Snell of Maple Grove,Mn; 7 Grand Children; 7 Great Grand Children and many adored nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to North Memorial Hospice
