Obituary of Patricia Ann (Schmitz) (Odden) Seeley

Patricia Ann (Schmitz)(Odden) Seeley born August 24, 1950 in Minneapolis died August 6th, 2020 from a rare cancer. She attended Shingle Creek Elementary, Floyd B. Olson Jr. High, and Patrick Henry High where she excelled in debate, speech , choir and graduated in the top 2%. She graduated summa cum laude in 3 years from Concordia College, and earned a masters in education professional development while teaching secondary German over 26 years.

After completing a masters in industrial engineering at Texas Tech specializing in ergonomics she went to work for General Motors, then We Energies. She finished as a private consultant, primarily for The Electric Power Research Institute and with Marquette University on several occupational work projects and handbooks for overhead, underground line men, power plant, vegetation management, substation and wind turbine workers and fleet vehicle design. Her specialty was developing and arguing the business case for ergonomic investment. She authored a handbook for worker friendly power plant design which is still in wide use.

In retirement she enjoyed joining and forming several groups, singing in Exultate Chorus, playing her grand piano, exercising, entertaining, being congregation and HOA President, babysitting her grand kids, volunteer work.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Darrell, survived by her children Joanne Odden, Erik Odden (Jenny);stepchildren Katy Seeley-Dean (Penny), Dan Seeley (Jessica); first husband Dan Odden (Cynthia); grandchildren Anders and Annika Odden, Reid and Jack Seeley; niece Pam Johnson Jones (Bobbie Jones), great nephew Carter and great niece Sophia Johnson, and lots of cousins in Norway.

There will be an online memorial service on Saturday August 22nd at 2 PM CDT, with visitation starting at 1 PM CDT preceding the memorial service. The Zoom Link and meeting info are as follows:

She will be interred at the columbarium at Christ Lutheran Church, Sedona AZ at a later date.
