Timothy Johnson

Obituary of Timothy Robert Johnson

It is with sadness in the hearts of his family that we annouince the passing of Timothy Robert Johnson.

Tim was a son, husband, father, Catholic school principal, football player, golfer, pickleball player, coach, Boy Scout leader, avid traveler and a true friend. His friends called him Timmy or Pop for him being such an example to them. All of these titles he left behind on August 9, 2020, when his long journey with dementia ended. Once again, he is at peace.

He was born to William and Anne Johnson on December 29, 1948. They and Tim's siblings William, Ralph and James preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister Jean (Clay) Marston of Boston. Tim married Alice Schroeder on June 23, 1979, sharing 41 wonderful years of living life as best friends and living life to the fullest with each other.

Graduating from Gorton High School, Yonkers, NY, Yankton College in South Dakota, and St. Scholastica (Masters in Education), Tim's professional career was spent working with children. He worked as a Program Director at Woodland Hills and as the DIrector of the Operation Aware Program (a prevention program in the schools). His real love was being a Catholic School Principal at St. Rose in Proctor and for many years at Cathedral School, Superior, WI. He possessed all the qualities that made him successful in his profession. He was humble, dedicated, kind, loyal, generous with his time, but he especially loved working with children! He also enjoyed playing and wathcing football, receiving many awards throughout his career. Indeed, his accomplishments were many.

He will be forever missed and cherished by his wife Alice, sons Jarrod and Ty and daughter Brooke (Matt) Krafthefer. Tim enjoyed all Holidays and was never happier than when surrounded by his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Cathedral School, Superior, WI.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Marywood and Safe Harbor at St. Scholastica Health Center for their kindness and compassion. Also, to the many friends who reached out with all the kind words, memories and gestures of kindness throughout this difficult time, especially Lois and John Kubow.

Tim will be remembered for his kind, gentle, and caring ways, as well as his love of God. When you think of him remember the sparkle in his eyes and may it put a smile on your face. As Tim would frequently say, "FIND THE GOOD"!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when we all can gather and share in the joy TIm brought!
