The longest walk "home" that any parent will take is the one where their child has run "ahead" of them.

Kara Elizabeth Dillingham was born December 20, 1990. Kara wanted to make everything around her beautiful and she did. She was a gifted artist, lover of animals, and had a passion for plants. Kara loved painting with her two sisters and brother and making jewelry for those she loved.

Kara graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria Minnesota in 2009. She received her Associates degree from Century College and her esthetician license from the Aveda Institute of Minneapolis.

She died after a brief illness on August 2, 2020.

She is survived by her parents Jana (Wrolson) and Scott Dillingham, her three younger siblings, Ava, Henry, and Sophia Dillingham and her life partner, Taylor Rutkus and their cat Bane.

She was loved by her Aunts Joy Wrolson (Wes Beal), Lisa (Chris) Nickel-Felton, Tracy Scott, cousins Noah Wrolson and Simon Nickel-Felton, KC and Khloe Scott, Grandparents Roger and Lenore Dillingham, Sue Scott, and Ron and Marian Wrolson, Great Grandma Dorthea Scott, Step Aunt Chrishelle Mango, Step Uncles Aaron (Shanda) Strong and Brandon Strong, along with many extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Uncle Jason Dillingham.

Celebration of life services for Kara will be held at Alexandria Covenant Church at 11 am central time on Saturday August 8, 2020. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend the service. Use the following link is https://alexandriacovenant.org/live-stream-event/

An outdoor reception will be at the Kensington Rune Stone Park will be held after the service. There will be opportunities to enjoy the park like Kara would want us to.
