Obituary of Margaret Magnuson

Margaret passed away on July 30, 2020, at age 96. She was born in Duluth on August 8, 1923, and was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jennie (Hansen) Carlson, loving husband Donald Magnuson, brother Donald Carlson, and sister Beverly Hoch. Margaret was a proud 1941 Denfeld graduate. In 1945, she married Don in Skagway, Alaska. and 4 years later they returned to Duluth which from then on they called home. Margaret loved the Twins and Gophers, baking, and summers at Leech Lake. She is survived by her very special and devoted daughter JoAnn of Duluth, daughter Janet (Gene), son James (Terry); grandsons Sean, Scott, and Chad, granddaughter Erin, great-grandson Owen, as well as many extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 5th Street neighbors whose help kept Margaret in the family home through her 96th year. Thank you to John and Helen Silvernale, Bob and Micki Szymczak, and John and Jacqui Messina, and the Westminster Presbyterian family. Because of the current pandemic, there will be no memorial service. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
