Jeffrey Peaslee

Obituary of Jeffrey Ernest Peaslee

Jeff was born in Duluth on December 22, 1977 and lived there his entire life. He died at home on July 7, 2020 at age 42. He was an active boy who loved the family cabin on the Gunflint Trail. Jeff enjoyed snowboarding, camping, biking, motorcycles and Nintendo.  He suffered severe disabling injuries in an accident in 1996 a few months after high school graduation from East. He created a life for himself at home with his parents. His Mom lovingly devoted herself totally to caring for him without ever a moment of interruption. His Dad enjoyed Jeff’s daily routines immensely. Jeff was bright and courageous. Caring for him was an honor and a privilege. He taught his parents many things about life as well as how to navigate remote controls. His family misses him dearly.

Jeff is survived by his parents Dawn and Ernest; sister Susan Schnackenberg and her husband Ben (Prior Lake, MN) and their children Cooper, Ella, Gracie and Baylor; brother Neal and his friend Kelsey Endicott and Neal’s children Hannah and Larissa; and brother Mark and his wife Amanda Lewis-Peaslee (Wenatchee, WA) and their children Otto, Britta and Odin.

Jeff did not want a formal visitation or funeral service and his family is honoring that request. His family together will celebrate his life.

Per Jeff’s request, people who would like to commemorate his life please direct your gift in his memory to: Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness, 401 N. Third Street, Suite 290 Minneapolis, MN 55401-1475.
