Wes Bennerotte

Obituary of Wes Bennerotte

Wes Bennerotte, 68, of Lake Elmo, formerly of Woodbury, passed away July 21st after a brief illness.

Wes was born April 2nd, 1952 in a “green” house in Kasson, Minnesota to Howard & Marie (Glamm) Bennerotte.  Wes had convinced Sara that he was born in the same house Frosty lived in and knew Frosty the Snowman personally.

He graduated from West Concord High School and earned his BS degree from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.

Wes & Cheryl (Lindeman) were married on his 25th birthday in 1977.  Their daughter Sara was born in 1978.

He spent the majority of his working years at Towers Management as a Property Manager, retiring in 2015.

Wes was an avid deal seeker and loved sharing his good deals with Sara.  They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and boy was this the case!

Wes & Cheryl loved to travel and went to almost all the major league ballparks, many National Parks and had been to almost every state.  After Sara & Dan got married, they were able to join them on many excursions including a European river cruise, Hawaii and Alaska to name just a few!  His love of baseball had us attending many Twins games each year.  He played golf multiple times a week and loved to hunt for golf balls that he then brought home to scrub clean in the kitchen sink.  Wes enjoyed playing cards weekly and his lunches with the Original Pancake House crew.

Spending time with his extended family was very important to Wes and he enjoyed catching up with all of them whenever he could.  He always had a joke to go along with any occasion, even if sometimes not appropriate!

Wes & Cheryl were members of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Woodbury for over 30 years.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Howard & Marie, his brothers Gary & Charlie, sister-in-law Joanne Bennerotte and his buddy Rags.

Wes is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl, his daughter Sara & son-in-law Dan Schmitt.  Sister, Myrna (Steve) Rasmussen, brothers, Stu (Sara) & Brian, sisters-in-law Sue Bennerotte, Judy (Ron) Gust & Cindy (Bruce Jackson) Lindeman.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Due to Covid and limitations on attendees, a private celebration will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (https://ccefs.org/), American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
