Obituary of David N. Gair
David N. Gair, my beloved husband and the father of our 2 sons, Jonathan (Danielle) and Nathaniel (Stephanie), died on July 19, 2020 after battling cancer for three years.
He was an extraordinary man who was first called to the priesthood before choosing to leave so he could marry and have a family. He was introduced to his future wife, Ellen, in 1973 at a family baptism and later proposed; they were in married in March 1974, and later that year, he welcomed his first born son, Jonathan, and 2 years later, his son Nathaniel. In later life, he also welcomed our 3 grandchildren to the family: Nathaniel A., Sophie and Lauryn.
David continued ministering in his work as a Probation Officer, counseling troubled adults who were convicted of crimes.
Once retired, time was spent pursuing several hobbies including wood turning. David also began studying Buddhism, which profoundly changed his thinking and focus in this life and allowed him to develop a more expanisve spirituality. His beliefs were freely shared with others who were also deepening their understanding of Buddhism and he touched many lives with his wisdom and compassion.
Always an involved and loving spouse and father and grandfather, I cherished my time with him and the time we spent as a family.
David was taken too soon and will be sorely missed.
