Obituary of Robert Merton White

Robert M. White, 84, of Duluth, passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, while at home with loved ones at his bedside.  He was born on September 24, 1935 in Cloquet, MN to Alfred and Edna White.  He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1954, was a lifelong resident of Cloquet and Duluth, and served in the Minnesota National Guard for nine years, as a deacon at the Duluth and Moose Lake Seventh Day Adventist Churches, and as a volunteer minister at the federal prison for 21 years.  He enjoyed working in his workshop.

 

His parents, his first wife Annabelle, his second wife Shirley, and his brother Al White preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by sisters Donna Smith MN and Shirley Burton MN; sister-in-law, Marge White; brothers, James (Mary) White MN and Daniel White MN; children, Edwin Potter WI, Ken (Pam) White WI, Linda (Steve) Black MN, Robin (David) Leskey MN, and Marty White MN, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Bob’s greatest joys in life were having his family and friends nearby and his service to the church and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He will be sadly missed by all those knew this kind and humble man.

 

Memorial Service

 

There will be no memorial service now, but we plan to hold a celebration of life event later this summer or early fall.
