Luella (Snooky) Kimmerle Newstrom

Age 96, passed away on June 28, 2020. U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Former Executive Secretary of the Minnesota League of Women Voters, beginning in 1948. Member of the Charter Committee that made Bloomington a city. Proud founding member of the Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (MVUUF). Teacher at Apple Valley Westview Elementary from 1971 to 1987. Survived by husband of 72 years, Eugene “Red” Newstrom; brother, Kim Kimmerle; daughters, Peggy Newstrom, Amy (Frank “Chip”) Lowry; granddaughter, Alissa (Eric) Huikko and great grandson, Harley. Memorial service to be held at MVUUF after the pandemic and a burial at Fort Snelling at a later date.
