Obituary of Jerome L Thelen

THELEN, Jerome "Jerry" died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23rd in his home in Plymouth, MN at the age of 80. U.S. Army Veteran. 

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Renee (Chris) Buelow;  granddaughters, Ashley Buelow, Camryn Buelow; sister, Barbara Sobaski; sister, Darlene (Dwane “Butch”) Berens; brother, Mark (Laurie) Thelen; many nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbors and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Thelen; father, Roy Thelen; mother, Florence Thelen; sister, Dianne Thelen; and brother-in-law, Melvin Sobaski.Jerome was born on October 27^th, 1939 in Waubun, MN to Roy and Florence Thelen. He attended University of St. Thomas and the U of M while pursuing his Public Health degree. He married Darlene Hellerstedt in 1963, and soon after moved to Chicago, IL to begin his professional career. While living in Chicago, they began their family with the birth of their only child and daughter Renee. Jerry, Darlene, and Renee then moved back to Plymouth, MN where they lived up to his passing.Per his wishes, private family services will be held for Jerome and Darlene.  Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery.   For memorials and flower remembrances, please contact family at: cabuelow@gmail.com
