Obituary of Iko Kathleen Johnson

Iko Kathleen Johnson, age 56, entered eternal life peacefully at home with her family around her on Thursday June 18, 2020.

Kathy was born May 26, 1964 in Fallon, NV to Robert ‘Big Tom’ and Yoshiko Thompson. She grew up in Middletown RI, where her father retired from the Navy. There, she met Jamie, her husband of 26 years. They were married August 20, 1994.

Kathy was a dedicated mother and proud Navy Seabee wife. She raised 3 children through 37 moves across the country, and often played the role of both mom and dad through over 20 deployments. 

Resilient and loyal, she had a vivacious personality and always filled those around her with laughter. She made friends everywhere she went, leaving lasting impressions on everyone she met. She prided herself on making sure everyone was happy, healthy, and especially fed. In fact her cooking felt like home. 

She continues to live through the love of her life, Jamie; her children, Marissa, Caitlyn, and Timothy; son-in-law, Chris; grandson, Emmett; mother, Yoshiko; and brothers, Patrick and Tim... and all the cats she didn’t want.
