Obituary of Nancy Carol Farmer

Nancy Carol (m. Frankenberger) Farmer left this life May 26, 2020 due to natural causes at age 82. Born 9/20/37 in Atchison, Kansas, she grew up loving reading, academia, and journalism.  She married her high school sweetheart Bill and moved to St Paul where she raised her children, attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.  Upon divorce, she worked as a proofreader and copy editor until her retirement, most devotedly at Hazelden Publishing. Throughout her adult life, she loved to take history and social sciences extension classes and was passionate about participating in and supporting recovery groups. Her latter years were as an enthusiastic member of the Christian community at Crestiview Senior Living in Columbia Heights, enjoying meaningful friendships with select nursing staff.  Nancy is preceded in death by her mother Lucille Faulkner.  She is survived by her children David (Mary) Farmer, Anne (James) Farmer McGee, grandchildren Jennifer, Beth, Daria, and Nikita;  her brother William Frankenberger (Linda),  and her lifelong friends who went the distance: cousin Marty Holler, Judy and David Stewart, and Joan Gorka.  An outdoor memorial service, following current MN Covid precautions,  will be held at Washington Square Park, Stillwater, MN on Thursday, June 18 at 6:00 pm. Memorials are preferred to Crestview Senior Living in Columbia Heights or the charity of your choice.
