Obituary of Florence L. Carlson

Florence L. Carlson, age 98, passed away peacefully at Edgewood Vista on June 6, 2020. She was born on October 11, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of Duluth.

Florence was an excellent piano player, a wonderful cook, and an avid cribbage player. She enjoyed cabin life, traveling, camping, fishing, skating, bowling and playing volleyball in her younger years. Florence was her son Ron’s biggest fan at the sprint car races. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Florence was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Florence is preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Erickson; son, Ron; and daughter-in-law, Joanne. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dick (Sherry), Marv, Duane (Diane); daughter-in-law Vicki; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Edgewood Vista for their compassionate care of Florence.

A private service will be held to celebrate her life.
