Dear Sara and all,
I am so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. He was a pillar in the Technical Communications group at Medtronic. Even though he had been in competition with me for the job managing the department, he was always professional, conscientious, and helpful. He had chosen the best software tool for the work before I came to Medtronic, and helped in the transition to everyone using it. I soon promoted him to supervisor, and writers really liked working for him. He was a great writer himself. In fact, it was always his editing I sought when I needed to write an important memo, report, or proposal. It was somewhat mystifying and heartbreaking to see such a talented person begin to decline, yet Dave remained self aware and conscientious. I know he will be missed terribly.
