Jean Fields, age 69, of New Hope, MN passed away peacefully in her home Friday, May 22, 2020. She was born in Morris, MN, spent her early youth in Norcross, MN, then her adolescent years on a dairy farm in Deer Creek, MN with her family. After graduating from Henning High School in 1968, she moved to Minneapolis and married her husband, Daryl, in 1974. They raised their 3 children in New Hope. She began her career at Prudential and stayed there for almost 30 years, consulted for a few years and retired from Wells Fargo at age 65.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and pets, playing cards, doing puzzles, and had a passion for reading. Jean also loved watching and supporting her children’s and granddaughter’s sports and activities. She was known for her home cooking, hot dishes and sewing skills and always had a story about her childhood to share. Many people looked to her as their rock and was always made time to care for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Daryl; parents: Francis and Ethel; siblings: Dolly (Ron), Rob, Danny, and Tim. She will be sorely missed and is survived by her children: Becky (Lucas), Beverly and Byron; grandchildren: Sophia, Soraya, Clara and Kate; siblings: Pat, Linda (Richard), Jim, Jeff (Barb), Jill, Tom (Connie) and Fran. Jean was also blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held with interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 17th. Due to the restrictions and safety concerns, the service will be a virtual event shared with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to: Children’s Home Society of MN (MN Adopt), American Cancer Society of MN, or the Animal Human Society. Condolences may be sent to 8224 49th Ave No, New Hope, MN 55428.
