Ruby Rose (Bragg) Bollinger died at age 86 on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 12:25 am in St. Paul, Minnesota, presumably from a cardiovascular stroke.  Her daughters, grandson and granddaughter are very grateful to have had the opportunity to say goodbye to her in person the evening before she passed. Ruby is preceded in death by Robert Bollinger (husband), Scott Bollinger (son), Robert Bragg (brother), Moody Bragg (father) and Leone Bragg (mother).  Her surviving family members are Sherry Bollinger (daughter), Althea Rasmussen (granddaughter), Stephanie Rasmussen (granddaughter-in-law), Jack Rasmussen (great grandson), Angela Rasmussen (step-granddaughter), Nicole Rasmussen (step-granddaughter), Susan Bollinger-Brown (daughter), Don Bollinger-Brown (son-in-law), Gavin Bollinger-Brown (grandson) and Paige Bollinger-Brown (granddaughter). Ruby earned her Bachelor’s degree later in life, as a wife and mother of three.  She was a Licensed Nurse and a Social Worker with emphasis on care for the elderly.  She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was always a very gracious host.  Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing, dining out, theatre, camping, hiking and travel.  Ruby was a passionate defender of equal rights for all (gender, race and religion) and was proud to be involved in many different areas of political activism.  She never tired of reading and learning and was always interested in furthering her personal growth. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, our memorial service is limited to family only. A virtual memorial service will be hosted by the Cremation Society of MN beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Please visit the Cremation Society of Minnesota Facebook page at 1:45PM. Our service will be livestreamed under the posts section.

Ruby’s family remains forever grateful for the excellent and loving care Ruby received from the staff at the nursing home where she spent her final days.  Donations (checks only, please) are encouraged to St. Anthony Park Home, 2237 Commonwealth Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55108.  Please include Ruby’s name on any donations so proper acknowledgment can be made.  Thank you.
