Obituary of Robert LeRoy Ireland

Robert L. Ireland, 95, died on May 21, 2020 after living a long full life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Luba, whom he adored. They shared many happy times, especially their passion for travel. Bob has 4 children whom he loved from his previous marriage; Mike (Kay), Rex (Jessie), Steve and Kathleen (Cyril). He experienced great joy with his expanded family that included step-children; Arthur (Susan), Richard (Patty), Lisa (John) and Barb (Gary). With his combined family he leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Lee, who was a great support to Bob and Luba.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Florence, sisters, Phyllis and Pat and his first wife, Virginia.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Bob was a proud graduate of Washburn High School. Bob worked throughout his career at Bemis, Inc. retiring after 43 ½ years as President of the Film Division in Terre Haute, IN. Bob was very involved and respected for his many contributions supporting community charities and organizations.

Bob lived a wonderful, long life and leaves a legacy of kindness. He was always ready with a joke and would make sure to tell people that “the world is a better place because you lived”. The world certainly will be a better place because Bob was part of it.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to a charity of your choosing. The family will have a private graveside service.
