Preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Patrick; parents Willmar and Ingrid (Kustor) Johnson, brothers Ron and Ken. Betty served a full career as a registered nurse after completing the US Cadet Nurse Program at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. She was a founding member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, now located in Plymouth, MN. Betty loved visiting with family and friends. She and Pat also traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She also thoroughly enjoyed and was quietly proud of living independently up to her 93rd birthday in her own Plymouth townhouse. As a full-blooded Finn, she was the living embodiment of the Finnish concept of Sisu. She was a kind and gentle soul and will be sorely missed. Betty died peacefully as a resident of The Waters of Plymouth. The family extends its great appreciation to the Waters and to its associates for the care and comfort they provided. The family hopes to hold a Celebration of Life later this year.
