Obituary of Jeffery S. Kemp

Jeffery S Kemp of Brule, Wi, passed away peacefully on March 31st 2020 at the age of 72 years. He was born July 5th in Superior, Wi, 1948 to Edwin and Agnes Kemp.

He is survived by his wife Kathy and a son Jesse L (Ann Suomala) Kemp of Kettle River, Mn, sisters, Judy (Richard) Carlson, Columbus, Wi, Lucy (Robert) Tatinger, Brule, Wi, Rose (Byron) Jensen, Iron River, Wi, Vicky (Tom) Schmitt Germaine, Wi, and brother Darrell (Lilian) Kemp Brule, Wi, many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth Kemp and son Jason Kemp.

After graduating from Northwestern high school in Maple, Wi, 1967, Jeff was drafted into the army where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam from October 1968 to October 1969. During his service he was awarded the Air medal, national defense service medal, Vietnam “three bronze star” service medal,  combat infantry badge, bronze star, republic of Vietnam campaign medal and sharpshooter.

After returning home, Jeff and Kathy Payne, of Iron River, Wi, were married October 6th of 1970 at the Presbyterian Church in Brule, Wi. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

Jeff was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union Local 647.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Jeff when permitted.
