Obituary of Leonard A. Anderson

Anderson, Leonard Albin William Joseph
Age 93, formerly of Elk River MN, passed peacefully on April 22, 2020 in Shoreview, MN.
Born August 6, 1926 to Louise Marie Enders (Anderson) and William Leonard Anderson in Minot, ND. Graduated St. Leo's High School 1944 in Minot. As a boy, he work on the farm with his uncle and learned carpentry. Served as Army Sargent in Korea, 1950-52. Married Jacqueline Arseth also in 1952 and raised 3 children. Leonard divorced and remarried in 1974 to Linnea Hoeft. In 1986 he purchased 10 acres in Elk River, MN and built a new house. Soon after it was completed, he retired his career as machine shop inspector. He traveled until his wife Linnea grew ill and passed in 1998. Leonard spent much of his spare time reading and socializing with friends and family. Having a stroke himself in 2014, he came to live with his daughter, Sharon, in Shoreview. Leonard bounced back and enjoyed continuing his socializing until another stroke hit on March 22, 2020. Surrounded by family, he passed peacefully in his home in Shoreview. Preceded in death by Parents, Louise and William; Siblings, Edward Anderson, Gertrude Kinzer, Dorothy Anderson; Children, Michael Anderson, Lisa Anderson; Spouses, Jacqueline Swanson, Linnea Anderson.
Survived by his loving sister, Agnes Peterson; daughter, Sharon Snider; 4 grand children and 1 great grand child; and many nieces and nephews. He was a very loving and caring man and will be missed dearly. No funeral service due to Pandemic. A memorial service is pending. Private family burial at Ft. Snelling May 1, 2020 at 10a.
