Obituary of Patricia Ann "Patsy" Toor Lowe

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Toor Lowe passed away March 27, 2020 after a brief illness. Pat was born on July 5, 1933 to Clarence and Katherine “Nana” Toor in Virginia, MN. Pat was a lifelong Proctor resident. She graduated from Proctor High School in 1951, where she was the longest serving head majorette for Proctor High School Band under direction of Mr. Moody as he lead the band to their performance at the Rose Bowl in 1951. She attended UMD, worked in the medical, banking, marketing, legal and Local 1116 Union which she retired in 2002 after 30 years. After retirement, Pat volunteered her talents which included a Sunday radio broadcast reading for The Lighthouse of the Blind, fundraising for the Proctor Area Historical Society. In 2006 she was inducted into the Proctor Hall of Fame after directing Mr. Moody’s Marching Alumni Band for 22 years. She also was an active member of REA3D Board of Directors since 2007.

Pat was a self- taught pianist with a beautiful voice. Her other hobbies included her book club group, which was a highlight every Thursday, knitting hats for friends and donations ,her Munger stretch group, and most importantly an avid walker who was inspired by the saying “Motion is Lotion”.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents , brothers George and Dick, sister Marion “Mayme” Bijold, niece Betty Elstad, nephew Tom Bijold. Patricia is survived and sadly missed by daughters Cynthia Kasmirski (Tom), Barbara Lowe, Laurie Ryder, sons James (Julie), Dan, sister Katherine “Goog” Heegard (Kelly), grandchildren Nicole (Chris), James Jr. (Laura), Jenni, Alex, Taylor and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Proctor Area Historical Society.

Funeral services will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Proctor, MN at a later date.
